We're always interested in hearing from prospective students and postdocs.
Undergraduates
There are several routes into the group for undergraduates at University of Minnesota: part-time or summer employment, enrolling in a directed-research course (PHYS 3993, 3994, 5993, or 5994), completing an honors thesis through the University Honors Program, joining the university-wide Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) or Researcher-Initiated Student Employment (RISE) program. If any of these sound like a good fit, please reach out directly — no prior research experience is required.
PhD Students
Prospective PhD students should apply through the Astrophysics Graduate Program admissions process at the University of Minnesota, and are welcome to reach out in advance to learn about our research and potential opportunities to join the group.
Postdocs
We’re glad to help support a candidate bringing their own fellowship, including the 51 Pegasi b Fellowship, NASA Hubble Fellowship Program (NHFP), or NSF Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellowship (AAPF). Open postdoc positions (when available) are posted on the AAS Job Register.
